Corporate Beginnings

MACNELL is the first premium quality paint brand that is exclusively owned and produced by a Filipino company, MAYON INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION.  We are the  pioneer in the paint manufacturing industry having been established in 1963. It was founded by a group of  Filipino-Chinese businessmen and started as a manufacturer of car paint products in a rented warehouse building located along Banawe St. in Quezon City. The middle of 1970 saw the birth of MACNELL” premium brand architectural coating finishes when its founder decided to venture into the manufacture of decorative paints to serve the increasing demand in the construction industry of the country. Japanese technology
in the production of architectural paints was acquired and its facilities were transferred in a bigger plant location at Grace Village also in Quezon City.

Through the years, the company has undergone continuous product evolution geared towards developing environment-friendly premium quality paints for the purpose of satisfying the growing needs of the Filipino people as well as giving value for their hard earned money. As such, Macnell entered into a technical collaboration with one of the world’s leading chemical company for the supply of a specially formulated resin used in the manufacture of water-based elastomeric coatings and emulsion paints. We take pride in being the first paint company in the country to develop waterproof paints as well as textured acrylic paints. We have been producing a number of superior products such as water-based acrylic flexible elastomeric paints, solvent based acrylic coatings, emulsion and/or acrylic latex paint finishes for exterior and interior applications. Depending on the usages, our product lines are applicable on either masonry, wood or metallic substrates and are guaranteed against peeling, blistering, cracking and other key resistance properties like scrubbing, chalking and fading.
